Gl Accounting Lead

EMEA Recruitment is delighted to support an international software company looking to add a GL Accounting Lead to their Finance team.Sitting within the General Ledger stream, you will lead a team of five people and work across multiple entities under IFRS, collaborating closely with AR / AP and Group Accounting, and partnering with external auditors and advisors.This is an exciting opportunity to build on your GL and IFRS foundation by driving month-end close activities, intercompany reconciliations, and statutory reporting, while contributing to process standardization and the rollout of SAP Business ByDesign.You will gain exposure to change and project management, work with senior stakeholders in a dynamic, evolving environment, and have the potential to grow into a lead role.Key responsibilities of the GL Accounting LeadOwn end-to-end General Ledger activities for assigned EMEA entitiesPrepare and review monthly trial balances and IFRS financials, support statutory financial statements, and external auditsCoordinate with tax advisors on filings, and uphold internal controls and accounting policiesPrepare and post journals, accruals, deferrals, and prepayments; maintain and review balance sheet schedulesEnsure appropriate revenue / cost recognition for subscription contracts where applicableDrive process standardization and continuous improvement, and support ERP rollout and optimization (SAP Business ByDesign)Provide leadership to a team of 5Experience and skills5+ years' GL accounting experience under IFRS, with strong month-end close exposureStrong IFRS knowledge essentialExperience supporting statutory financial statements and external auditsExposure to process standardization, systems implementation, or change / project work is a plusPeople management experienceHighly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-drivenProactive mindset with a focus on process improvementExperience in software or telecom / IT environments will be advantageousFluent in EnglishDue to the high volume of applications we receive, we're only able to contact those selected for the next stage of the process.
