About the Position Functional Safety Specialist (Hardware) to join the Electronics Functional Safety Team located in Italy, France and Germany. This position is based at our office in Corbetta. Responsibilities Provide safety-related support and coaching to the project team and review safety-related work products for Functional Safety compliance. Hardware design, production and field analysis are included. Support platform designs prior to concrete offers or projects, with emphasis on safe hardware design and applying know-how to other designs. During offers, coach system design in defining safety concepts and estimating components requiring functional safety compliance. Support and coach hardware designers in evaluating the functional safety impact of RFIs, RFQs and CRs. During development, guide hardware designers in executing functional safety activities and developing the product in compliance with functional safety requirements (e.g., requirements, architectures, safety analyses). Review and ensure compliance of work products and R&D processes with ISO 26262 requirements. For production, review and support safety-relevant production documents (e.g., creation and application of safety-relevant critical characteristics of components used). For field analysis, help define and monitor field returns strategy for safety-related issues. Assist the Project Safety Manager in preparing the project team for functional safety audits and assessments. Contribute to defining indicators to measure Functional Safety team efficiency and effectiveness for your area, aiming at continuous process improvement. Share opportunities for process improvement with Functional Safety Methodology Specialist and the rest of the team. Qualifications Degree in engineering or equivalent experience, ideally in Electronics or similar. 5 to 10 years’ experience within hardware automotive development. 3+ years of experience with safety-relevant development. Demonstrated leadership. Other skills Relevant parts of ISO 26262 and ISO 21448 SOTIF as a plus. Tools and methodologies for safety analysis (e.g., DFA, FMEA, FTA, FMEDA). Development of embedded systems. Process development standards (e.g., IATF, ASPICE, etc.). Mandatory: Good written and spoken English. Additional languages are a plus (Chinese, Japanese, Italian, German, Portuguese or French). Experience in multi-national and cross-cultural teams across EMEA, Asia, LatAm, NAFTA regions.
