ABOUT THE ROLE – Planning Engineer (Oil & Gas / EPC Projects)
We are looking for a Planning Engineer to join complex EPC and Oil & Gas projects .
Reporting to the Project Service Manager , the resource will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating project schedules to ensure the timely execution of all project phases — from engineering to procurement, construction, installation, commissioning, and handover .
The role will support the Project Manager and Project Service Manager by providing schedule forecasts, progress analysis, and delay mitigation strategies , enabling proactive and efficient project execution.

Key Responsibilities
1. Schedule Development & Baseline Preparation
- Develop and maintain the Project Master Schedule in line with the Project Execution Plan (PEP).
- Define the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and activity coding in coordination with all project disciplines.
- Identify critical path activities and key milestones .
- Ensure alignment between schedule, cost control, procurement, and engineering deliverables .
2. Progress Monitoring & Control
- Monitor actual progress vs. baseline schedule .
- Update schedules regularly (weekly/monthly) with real progress data.
- Identify deviations and propose recovery and mitigation plans .
- Maintain S-curves and manpower histograms .
3. Coordination with Project Teams
- Interface with engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, and offshore teams to collect progress data.
- Integrate subcontractor schedules into the overall project plan.
- Ensure alignment between onshore and offshore execution schedules , especially for critical interfaces.
4. Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for management and clients.
- Perform and present Critical Path Method (CPM) analysis .
- Highlight risks, delays, and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop short-term look-ahead schedules .
5. Delay & Change Management
- Perform schedule impact analysis for changes and variations.
- Support claims with Time Impact Analysis (TIA) .
- Maintain documentation for Extension of Time (EOT) submissions.
Project Scope & Interfaces
- Key activities: Yard fabrication, module assembly, civil works, vendor delivery tracking, marine vessel mobilization, subsea installation, hook-up, commissioning campaigns.
- Challenges: Material delivery coordination, yard productivity, and management of multiple work fronts.
- Interfaces: Vendors, fabrication yards, construction sites, offshore teams, marine logistics and installation crews.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (BSc) in Engineering from an accredited university.
- Minimum 8 years of experience as Planning Engineer in Oil & Gas, EPC, or industrial projects .
- Strong experience with planning tools (Primavera P6 or equivalent) .
- Solid understanding of project lifecycle and scheduling methodologies .
- Proven experience in CPM scheduling, reporting, and delay analysis .
- Fluent in English (written and spoken) with strong reporting skills.
The salary for this role ranges from €40.000 to €70.000
The position is governed by the National Collective Bargaining Agreement (CCNL)
