As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll play a vital role in enhancing our product. Your key responsibilities include: Contribute to technical direction and support team members when needed, fostering growth, accountability, and technical excellence. Design and build scalable backend solutions using Node.js with TypeScript. Oversee AWS infrastructure and contribute to DevOps practices (CI/CD, monitoring, cloud architecture). Improve backend estimations, technical planning, and collaborate on roadmap alignment. Design and implement robust authentication systems, payment integrations, and API services. Lead technical execution of our custom video infrastructure project. Ensure backend performance, security, and reliability at scale. Collaborate cross-functionally with Frontend, Product and Design teams. Drive continuous improvement in development workflows, code quality, and deployment processes. Our Backend Technology Stack Serverless Framework ZOD Node.js/Express.js TypeScript Git/GitLab RESTful APIs What You’ll Bring Expertise in Node.js and TypeScript, with a strong understanding of scalable backend architecture Experience building or integrating custom video platforms or media delivery systems (e.g., AWS Media, Mux, or similar) 5+ years of backend development experience Familiarity with AWS cloud services, especially around storage, compute, and user management (Cognito, S3, Lambda, API Gateway) Mastery of coding principles like DRY and SOLID Agile Scrum proficiency and ability to work with evolving requirements Degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, or equivalent experience A quick-learning attitude, driven by results, and adaptability to change Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, remote team environment Exceptional communication and organisational skills Bonus Points For Hands-on experience with CI/CD and DevOps workflows. Experience with Stripe, In-App Purchases (IAP), or dual payment models.
