Role DATA ENGINEER As a Data Engineer at SpazioDati, you’ll play a pivotal role in architecting, building, and optimizing our data infrastructure. You will work with a talented team to design scalable data pipelines and ensure the efficient flow of data across multiple systems, enabling advanced analytics and data-driven products. You’ll dive into complex datasets, wrangle structured and unstructured data, and support the team in delivering quality data products. Have a look at our blog post about what a data engineer does in SpazioDati. Requirements You have a B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience. You are a great coder and feel at home with JVM-based languages (Java/Scala) and basic understanding of Python. You are familiar with data storage systems, whether relational databases, NoSQL solutions, stream processing and messaging. You are a quick thinker and problem solver who feels comfortable writing code. You are self-organized and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. You have a working knowledge of the Italian language or are willing to learn it. Preferred You have experience maintaining and developing data-intensive, mission-critical workflows. You have experience with data storage solutions, such as relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL), search engines (e.g., Elasticsearch) and big-data technologies (e.g., Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, or similar). You take code quality seriously, including continuous integration, testing, code reviews, linters and modern DX. As a company that is constantly evolving and innovating, we cannot predict which new technologies will emerge in the future, but we are excited to explore them. We are looking for someone who is curious, proactive, and ready to help us discover and adopt cutting-edge solutions.
