Join us in redefining the boundaries of what’s possible. ENVISION YOUR FUTURE JOB The candidate will act as Product Design Engineer for Smart Eyewear project. He/She will follow the project from its very beginning, actively participating in the Product Design phase, where a solid, proactive, and creative problem‑solving approach is required, and supporting Product Development up until the launch to Mass Production. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for the 3D Model design on CAD and modeling of complex smart eyewear systems, where aesthetics plays a key role. The successful candidate should also be able to achieve a holistic understanding of the product and its functionalities. He/She will work closely with Product Design Engineers, Industrial Designers, User Experience team, Quality, Manufacturing. AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND RELATED ACTIVITIES Develop and act as reference for the development of complex mechanical solutions as a member of a multi-disciplinary team Ideate, design, build, test, and refine prototypes and characterization test systems Push state‑of‑the‑art technologies and approaches to solve complex mechanical problems Work across the full product development cycle, especially from idea, to concept definition and to product finalization Collaborate closely with industrial designers, UX team and quality. Travel to and support engineering builds and vendor visits QUALIFICATIONS Educational Background in Mechanical Engineering/Industrial Design Knowledge and Experience of Parametric 3D CAD Software, better if Creo software Knowledge and Experience on PDM, better if Windchill system Knowledge on design and process of Injection molding 3+ years of industry experience in mechanical design or in mold Design Experience in Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), statistical tolerance analysis techniques, functional dimensioning, geometric tolerancing, and 3D/2D CAD Knowledge of design and simulation tools, prototyping tools, manufacturing technologies and materials Working knowledge in material properties, such as plastics, metal, adhesive, glass, etc. Experience building relationships and collaborating with cross‑functional teams Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams High level of organizational skills Scientific approach and great problem‑solving skills Ability to operate in dynamic, fast‑paced environment with minimal supervision Previous experience in Consumer Electronics Product Development is greatly appreciated Experience with Office 365 WHAT ELSE DO YOU NEED TO KNOW In EssilorLuxottica you have the feeling of being part of a “success story”, no matter where you work in the EssilorLuxottica world, you can really make an impact.
