Overview

In this role you will drive the design of mechanical components and sub-assemblies within the New Product Development process, from initial spec through to start of production. You collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure right-first-time solutions, balancing performance, obsolescence, and cost. You will help define tests, support prototype work, and contribute to DFMEA and BOM management. This position offers hands-on design work, collaboration across disciplines, and impact on products used by millions.

Responsabilità
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to analyze and evaluate specifications
  • Prepare preliminary product feasibility studies with Industrial Design and R&D
  • Identify risks that could affect development timelines
  • Create and maintain component and sub-assembly specifications
  • Execute 3D/2D CAD design for parts and layouts
  • Support R&D in prototype preparation and testing
  • Contribute to DFMEA preparation
  • Prepare and maintain preliminary technical BOM
  • Collaborate with R&D and Purchasing on costs/investments
  • Work with moulding departments to analyze manufacturing processes
  • Support Quality Control, Production during Engineering Build and Pre-production
  • Participate actively in technical design reviews
  • Prepare technical documentation for status updates and future steps
Requisiti fondamentali
  • BEng or BSc in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Experience in designing mechanical components and systems
  • Knowledge of 3D design tool Siemens NX
  • Knowledge of mass production product development
  • Good knowledge of laboratory equipment and test result evaluation
