In this position, you will drive innovation at the intersection of device physics, packaging, and power electronics systems, working closely with R&D, product engineering, and system architecture teams.**Job Location:**Vishay Semiconductor Italiana spa is site focused on the design, development and production of power diodes and power modules. There are around 300 employees currently work in North Italy. This number is constantly increasing due to our expansion plans, including **CATANIA**.**What you will be doing:*** Lead the modeling and simulation strategy for power semiconductor devices and modules across multiple technologies (MOSFET, IGBT, SiC, GaN).* Develop and validate SPICE-level and electro-thermal models for power dies and packages.* Integrate die-level and module-level models into system-level simulations (e.g., traction inverter, onboard charger, industrial drives).* Apply and oversee the use of simulation tools such as Ansys, Plex, Simetrix, and other industry-standard platforms.* Design and replicate laboratory test environments to accurately emulate the operating conditions of power dies and modules.* Collaborate with device, package, and system design teams to translate simulation insights into tangible product improvements.* Ensure correlation between simulation results and lab measurements, leading model validation and calibration activities.* Mentor junior engineers and drive best practices in simulation methodology, test planning, and data analysis.**What you will bring along:*** 20+ years of proven experience in the semiconductor or power electronics industry, with a focus on power device modeling and system simulation.* Expert knowledge of power device physics (MOSFET, IGBT, SiC, GaN) and associated packaging techniques.* Demonstrated experience building and validating SPICE-level and electro-thermal models.* Strong background in system-level simulation of power electronics (e.g., inverters, converters).* Proficiency in simulation tools: Ansys, Plex, Simetrix, and other multiphysics platforms.* Hands-on experience in designing test setups that replicate real-world operating conditions for power dies/modules.* Strong understanding of thermal behavior, switching losses, parasitics, and EMI in power systems.* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present technical findings and lead cross-functional collaboration.* Engineering degree (Ph.D. or Master’s preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field.**What can we offer you for your talent:*** Vishay offers a comprehensive suite of benefit programs including health care coverage, financial support programs and other resources designed to help you achieve your personal and professional goals.
