BESS Safety Engineer An energy‑sector company is seeking a BESS Safety Engineer with strong experience in UL 9540 / IEC 62619 to support its technical team in Sicily. This role is key for safety engineering, regulatory compliance, and system validation in large‑scale battery storage projects. Key Responsibilities Analyse and mitigate thermal runaway, fire, and failure scenarios in BESS systems. Ensure compliance with UL 9540, IEC 62619, IEC 62933, and VdS guidelines. Conduct HAZOP, FMEA, and other specialized technical reviews. Validate BMS/EMS, protection systems, monitoring, and safety controls. Interface with INAIL and Vigili del Fuoco for permitting and safety processes. Requirements Degree in Electrical, Energy, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or similar. 3–7+ years in BESS, industrial risk, or lithium‑ion safety engineering.
