Underwriter Construction – AXA XLMilan, ItalyJoin the Italian Property, Energy and Construction Underwriting team to deliver a profitable underwriting service, grow a profitable portfolio in line with the Business Plan, and represent AXA XL Italy on the market.This is a regulated role under the Central Bank of Ireland’s Fitness and Probity regime. You will report to the Team Leader Energy and Construction, Italy.What You’ll Be DoingUnderwrite business within the agreed business plan and individual authority: analyse risks, negotiate premiums, terms and conditions, ensure adequate reinsurance coverage, and monitor premium income to stay within set limits.Support the business planning and forecasting process.Seek, identify and develop opportunities for profitable business with new and existing customers.Develop relationships with stakeholders to ensure business needs are achieved, building personal connections with brokers, clients, risk managers and account managers.Collaborate with the Distribution Team to provide an effective and efficient service.Support the design and structure of risks and monitor financial exposure within significant limits.Maintain awareness of all claims advised and provide input on settlement of claims.Use knowledge and expertise to keep policy wordings up to date with legal requirements and market developments.Pass all necessary and accurate information to Operations colleagues to ensure correct release of policies and implementation of programs.Evaluate and improve systems, processes and procedures on an ongoing basis to achieve best efficiency in working methods.What You’ll BringCorporate Construction Insurance Industry knowledge and awareness of factors affecting this market, new trends and business transformation.Previous experience as Underwriter and knowledge of underwriting processes and procedures (including new digital procedures).Ability to work in English and Italian (both written and verbal).Business developer, passionate about doing business, negotiating and driving growth in a dynamic market.Ability to make swift and efficient data‑based decisions and keep the focus on goals over time.Contribute while working in a team to achieve collective goals.Ability to respond to a changing environment with flexibility and innovation.Who We AreAXA XL, the P&C and specialty risk division of AXA, is known for solving complex risks.
