The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks in the Engineering Department. The position is based in PISTOIA – IT.AccountabilitiesSupport and coordination during the bid and project development of the technical design of interiors passenger seats systemsDefinition of the conceptual solution of these equipment integration on vehiclesPreparation of system requirements specifications of these systemsAnalysis of suppliers technical proposals (CbC, Mom, Gantt, tests etc.)Checking the technical description of the systemVerification of 3D and 2D drawings/documents for installation/integration on boardChecking of FEM analysis reportTolerance concept & analysis for equipment integrationPreparation/verification of performance test specificationSupport during FAI testsDesign review with clients and suppliersSystem work package requirements managerManagement of the contractual documentation to and from the supplier (CbC, Mom, Gantt, tests etc.)Required Skills / KnowledgeExperience of at least 3 years in the interiors design in railway or mechanical industry with the role of System Interiors Engineer or mechanical industryGood knowledge of materials such as GRP (glass‑reinforced polyester), aluminium alloy, honeycomb and other materials used for interiors front end and seatsKnowledge of main office automation software/tools (Word, Excel, etc.)Knowledge of mechanical design software (AutoCAD, Creo, CATIA, etc.) and the IBM DOORS requirements management toolKnowledge of engineering processes and railway operationsAbility to work effectively with all levels of the organisation with the attitude to contribute with constructive and practical ideasReadiness to work effectively in a collaborative, fast‑paced, multi‑tasking, international environmentAbility to work autonomously in teams and for projects is requiredAvailability for short‑term national and international business tripsDesired Skills / KnowledgeAbility to manage and plan assigned tasks independently and in a team‑working environmentAbility to analyse business requirements, problem‑solving attitude and business process analysisAbility to face different internal functions (internal customer) and external (suppliers, customers, partners)Planning and organisationVersatile in learning and strong desire to remain up‑to‑date with changes in technology and best industry practicesStrong business acumen & technical skillsGood communication and interpersonal skillsAttitude to work in an international and multi‑cultural realityEducation / QualificationsDegree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical background (also technical high school graduation can be analysed)LanguagesGood knowledge of written and spoken English is mandatory.English language knowledge at least international B2 level.Equal OpportunitiesWe welcome and value differences in background, age, gender, sexuality, family status, disability, race, ethnicity, religion and world view.
