Structural Engineer

Valmont Solar | Convert Italia SpA , a global leader in solar tracker technology, is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Engineering Team.The position plays a key role in the structural design, analysis, and optimization of single-row solar tracker systems for utility-scale photovoltaic plants worldwide. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Analysis of project documentation Review and interpretation of project specifications and client requirements Assessment of geological and geotechnical reports for project sites Development of project documentation Preparation of Structural Reports and calculations Drafting and review of Geotechnical Reports Preparation of Pull-Out Test (POT) procedures and related documentation for field verification Compilation of documentation for civil engineering filing and permitting Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders (R&D, New Product Development, Project Engineering, local consultants) Research and Development activities FEM modeling and structural simulations of new tracker designs and components Development and validation of automation tools for recurring structural calculations Analysis and interpretation of wind tunnel test data and integration into design models Contribution to product certification and compliance with international structural standards QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering Prior experience (even brief) in structural design of steel structures or in a technical office role Technical Skills Excellent command of structural and geotechnical design software, including SAP2000 and MP Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Visual Basic and VBA for automation and structural data processing Strong proficiency in AutoCAD 2D Familiarity with Eurocode and NTC (Norme Tecniche per le Costruzioni) Soft Skills Strong analytical and problem‑solving mindset Attention to detail, autonomy, and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently Team‑oriented approach with good communication skills Languages Fluent in Italian and English (spoken and written) Other Requirements Availability for short‑term travel in Italy Position Full‑time EEO Statement Valmont Solar | Convert Italia SpA is committed to diversity and inclusion.
