A behavior characterized by respect, professionalism, and cooperation is required.RESPONSIBILITIESconfiguring and managing network devices (firewalls, routers, switches, etc.) to ensure the security and efficiency of business operations;monitoring network performance by identifying and resolving bottlenecks;maintaining network security policies, ensuring compliance with current regulations;collaborating with the IT management team to define and update access and authentication policies;promptly responding to security incidents, conducting incident analysis, and preparing response plans;maintaining accurate documentation of network configurations, changes made, and incidents managed;generating periodic reports on monitoring activities, identified risks, and mitigation measures implemented.REQUIREMENTSM.Sc. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering;Good knowledge of Network protocols: ISO/OSI architecture, TCP/IP stack;Good knowledge of Operating systems for network equipment;Good knowledge of Programming languages: Python;Good knowledge about monitoring system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning;Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues;Liaise with other IT personnel for problem resolution;Hands‑on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools;Good knowledge of Linux systems and network services administration;Good knowledge of UNIX/Linux operating systems and script languages (i.e., *nix shell);Strong attitude to work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure;Basic experience writing detailed incident response reports;Basic experience installing and operating firewalls, encryption programs, and other security software;Fluency in English.ADDITIONAL SKILLSHands‑on experience with configuring and installing various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS);Hands‑on experience with performing network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations;Hands‑on experience with monitoring performance and ensuring system availability and reliability;Hands‑on experience with Monitoring network traffic for security incidents and events;Hands‑on experience with Investigating incidents and responding to events in real time;Hands‑on experience with fixing vulnerabilities;SOFT SKILLSGood analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills.Detail orientedCustomer Service SkillsGood oral and written communication skills.Ability to operate independently or as part of a team.Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment while managing multiple priorities.Work well under pressure.DURATION, COMPENSATION & BENEFITSPlease note that this opportunity will be issued both internally and externally.Workplace location: CMCC Headquarters in Lecce, ItalyThe appointment period will be initially 12 months starting from February of €28,000–€36,000 per year.Tenure can be granted from 2 to 4 years after being appointed as a junior associate scientist.Welfare package, for minimum 12 months contract.Flexible working time as per internal policies.Support during the immigration process, if needed.PROTECTED CATEGORYBelonging to legally protected categories (ex L. 68/99) will constitute a preferential condition.Some fiscal benefits could be applied for repatriated workers or foreign researchers/professors, having the requirements defined by Dlgs 147/2015 (for repatriates) or Dl 78/2010 (for foreigners).CMCC is an equal‑opportunity employer.
