Responsibilities As a cook trainee, your duties will include the following : Performing various food preparations, cooking, and cleaning tasks to ensure the kitchen remains efficient in creating and delivering dishes for patrons. Completing all tasks, in order, on the prep list from the Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef. Daily preparation of food items in their assigned outlet as well as other areas of the kitchen. Supplying clean and sanitized dishes to the dining room and kitchen stations as well as operating and maintaining dishwashing equipment and supplies. Assisting the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, Cooks, and other kitchen personnel in the production of menu items which ensures a high level of performance, guest satisfaction, and profitability. Estimated Monthly Budget Projected monthly income : $2,400 (Hourly wage : $15) Projected costs for housing : $600 / Month Meals provided during working hours J1 Visa Program This traineeship is part of a J1 visa program intended for young professionals, or recent graduates to propel their careers, gain work experience, and improve their skills through cultural exchange. First payment due upon signing contract : $420 (non‑refundable) Last payment due upon visa approval : $1,450 (includes $650 of mandatory health insurance) Number of positions : 10 $14 / Hour ($2,400 / Month) Department : F&B kitchen Disclaimer: The first month of housing has to be paid by the candidate in advance. About you To be eligible for a J1 Visa, you must meet the following requirements : You’re between the ages of 18 to 35 years old. You graduated from an accredited institution, hold a degree related to the job position, and have at least 12 months of professional experience – OR You’re a young professional with at least 5 years of work experience in the field of interest.
