Lead Cloud Engineer – Operations

The Lead Cloud Engineer is a technical expert responsible for providing guidance and expertise on DevOps, SRE, and Cloud Engineering initiatives. This role will work closely with the Lead Cloud Ops Coordinator and other stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions that meet business objectives and customer needs. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide technical leadership and expertise on DevOps, SRE, and Cloud Engineering initiatives, including cloud-native architectures, containerization, and infrastructure as codeAct as a point of technical reference for the team, providing guidance and expertise on all technologies and approaches usedCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, quality assurance, and customer support, to ensure that solutions meet business objectives and customer needsDevelop and implement technical strategies and solutions to improve the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of systems and applicationsConduct root cause analysis (RCA) for infrastructure-related incidents, identifying areas for improvement and implementing measures to prevent future occurrencesStay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to improve the team's technical capabilities and solutionsSupport the planning and resource allocation activities of the team, including: providing technical input to inform resource allocation decisions, assisting with the development of project plans and technical roadmaps, collaborating with the Lead DevOps Coordinator to ensure effective allocation of resources and timely delivery of project milestonesProvide technical input and guidance on the development of technical proposals for cost reduction, performance improvement, and other initiativesRequirementsStrong technical background, with experience in DevOps, SRE, and Cloud Engineering, including cloud-native architectures, containerization, and infrastructure as codeExcellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutionsExperience with ITIL or other service management frameworks (nice to have)Experience with agile project management methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban (nice to have)Experience with cloud providers, such as AWS, GCP, or Azure (nice to have)Experience with containerization technologies, such as Kubernetes and Docker (nice to have)Experience with infrastructure as code tools, such as Terraform or CloudFormation (nice to have)Experience with monitoring and logging tools, such as Prometheus or ELK Stack (nice to have)Bonus knowledgeExperience with security and compliance frameworks, such as HIPAA or PCI-DSSExperience with automation tools, such as Ansible or SaltStackExperience with CI/CD pipelines, such as Jenkins or GitLab CI/CDWe are looking for someone who is:Driven to push boundaries and lead change and performance.Communicative to ensure transparency and successful teamwork.Reliable and dependable in meeting deadlines and commitments.Passionate about the latest technologies and industry standards.Proactive in suggesting improvements and identifying and fixing potential issues.Technically solid with the ability to advise clients and internal teams confidently.Our people are key to our success and we pride ourselves on offering a dynamic, creative, innovative and supportive environment.
