Job purpose : Design and development of circuits, boards and RF systems for satellite and airborne radar applications Candidate must be eligible to work in Italy. Job duties: The Electronic RF Engineer will design, develop, test and characterize RF solutions aimed at SAR radar for satellite and airborne applications. These solutions comprehend RF front end from antenna to signal digitalization in baseband. With the project manager he will verify the compliance of the proposed solutions to the project specifications, in order to have optimized solutions for the application. He will evaluate the reuse of known solutions or the proposal of new and original ones. He will also provide the support needed to transfer and integrate the solutions to final satellite or airborne platform. Design of RF electronic systems for SAR radar applications Validation of compliance with the project specifications Evaluation of RF budget both for receiver and transmitter and design of the system in terms of power, efficiency, noise figure, saturation, etc. Schematic design starting from soc and custom components Simulation and development of customized solutions on pcb (couplers, hybrids, splitters) Pcb layout design starting from schematics Testing, debugging and characterizing from the first prototype to the final product Required skills and qualifications: Strong knowledge of RF systems design, in particular of complex projects integrating RF, analog and digital control subsystems Knowledge of RF layout rules for RF boards up to K band Experience with RF and EM simulations tools (CST, ADS, MWO, HFSS, Sonnet, AN-SOF) Experience with circuital simulation tools (LTspice, ADS, QUCS, Tina) Experience with electronic design tools (Altium, Cadence, Kicad) Experience with system analysis and simulation tools (Matlab RF Toolkit, Simulink, Labview) Knowledge of basic RF measurement techniques with wideband instrumentation (VNA, spectrum analyzers and oscilloscopes) Ability to teamwork on shared projects and to interact with all entities involved in the project Strong communication ability to clearly explain technical concepts in oral and written form Technical leadership and skills to keep good relationship with all the team Fluent English both spoken and written Desired Skills/Qualifications Minimum 2 years of experience in the field Programming knowledge (Python, Matlab, C/C++) Knowledge of hardware description languages (Verilog, VHDL) Knowledge of interface and control protocols of R&S RF instrumentation Manual ability to solder at SMD components level Company description: MetaSensing is an innovative Italian remote sensing company founded in 2008 with the aim of commercializing the new compact, high resolution radar mapping technology.
