Amazon is seeking a talented and motivated Embedded Engineer to design, implement and launch robotics End Effectors. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in writing firmware to control electric motors, read a wide variety of sensors, and communicate with the larger system. This candidate must have the ability to work well both independently and in a multidisciplinary team setting. Key job responsibilities Author functional requirements, design verification plans and test procedures Execute product designs which meet the requirements Build and test electromechanical subsystem prototypes and integrated systems Support product releases to manufacturing and customer deployments Work efficiently to support fast‑paced schedules Basic Qualifications 5+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field Experience using Linux, demonstrating proficiency with associated tools or languages 8 years of full embedded software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience 5 years of development experience within an embedded environment or with some aspect of robotic systems which must include direct, hands‑on experience designing, developing, and debugging one of consumer electronics, medical devices, automotive systems, avionics, industrial, or telecommunications product 5 years experience developing embedded C applications that use an RTOS (such as FreeRTOS, uC‑OS, Zephyr, VxWorks) and embedded Linux environments Preferred Qualifications 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience Master's degree 10 years of full embedded software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market.
