As part of Hardware Engineering Finance you will partner with Hardware Engineers to develop the next generation of servers that improve performance and lower cost for our customers. You will have exposure to a wide portfolio of AWS hardware server technology. You will use tools such as Total Cost of Ownership and Net Present Value to support decision-making.To be successful, you will be highly analytical, work effectively across multiple finance and business teams, and be a solution builder.You don't need to be a hardware expert to join this teamKey ResponsibilitiesBuild robust business partnering relationships by providing data‑driven and decision‑supporting analytics on high‑visibility projectsDevelop ad‑hoc business cases and present recommendations to AWS senior managementDrive improvements in the end‑to‑end costing processEvaluate technology trade‑offs with respect to cost and performance relative to customer requirementsBuild systems to streamline delivery of financial information, ensure controllership, and scale the businessLead the financial planning and analysis effort of your business partners and forecast various metrics for financial risks and opportunitiesPartner with the business and influence decisions through financial analysisOptimize technology development and deployment choicesEnsure accurate hardware costingBuild/improve financial tools and processesProvide FP&A for the businessBasic Qualifications5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experienceBachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)Preferred QualificationsMBA, or CPAExperience working with large‑scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)Experience delivering results for large, cross‑functional initiatives/projectsExperience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of resultsKnowledge of SQLExperience in creating process improvements with automation and analysisExperience building and managing financial models for business forecasting and problem solving, or experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of resultsExperience in Excel (macros, index, conditional list, arrays, pivots, lookups), or experience using OracleAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
