Move with us for a better world Your Role We are looking for an energetic Product Cost Engineer with strong competencies in cross functional multi project team leadership, project management and industrial cost structure analysis. In this role, you will play a strategic part in optimizing product costs across the entire lifecycle. As Product Cost Engineer you will lead cross-functional initiatives aimed at identifying and implementing Profit Recovery opportunities, support design teams with cost-effective solutions, and ensure accurate cost modeling and benchmarking to drive competitiveness and profitability. In this role you will be part of the Equipment Research & Development Team at Technogym Village (Cesena, Italy). Your Impact Profit Recovery Leadership Lead cross-functional teams to identify ideas and define project scopes for Profit Recovery initiatives. Facilitate and moderate brainstorming sessions to generate new cost-saving ideas. Plan, monitor, and expedite activities to ensure continuous updates and achievement of annual Profit Recovery targets. Prepare and deliver periodic reports on progress and results. Product & Component Cost Analysis Perform detailed cost breakdowns: materials, manufacture processing, assembly. Use cost modeling software (i.e. Lean Cost, aPriori, Teamcenter Costing) to simulate and estimate current and future costs. Develop and promote tools for evaluating variable product costs and visualizing cost structure dynamics. Design Support Collaborate with R&D, Purchasing, Suppliers, and Engineering to identify cost-effective design solutions. Apply design-to-cost principles to influence product architecture. Conduct comparative BOM analysis to support cost-driven design decisions. Monitor and report on target vs. actual product costs. Benchmarking & Market Analysis Perform competitive benchmarking and reverse engineering of similar products. Analyze market trends to identify cost optimization opportunities. About You Ideally, you are passionate about working out, enthusiastic and proactive, while also down-to-earth and ethical. What You Should Bring Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Strong knowledge of mechanical and/or electronic product structures. Deep understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, sheet metal, machining, welding, painting). Proficiency in cost modeling, should-cost analysis, and target costing methodologies. Experience with PLM and ERP systems (e.g., Windchill, SAP) for cost tracking and BOM management. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and 3D models. Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, macros, simulations); experience with reporting tools like Power BI. Familiarity with project planning tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet). English proficiency Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational, analytical, and synthesis capabilities. Ability to work cross-functionally and influence decision-making.
