Software Development Engineer II (ADBL181)Employer: Audible, Inc.Title: Software Development Engineer IILocation: 101 Main Street, Cambridge, MA 02142Position reports into Cambridge, MA office; however, telecommuting may also be allowed.DutiesParticipate in the design, development, implementation, testing and documentation of embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using Java, Python, C#, or C++, and Object - Oriented Design.Translate functional requirements into robust, efficient, supportable solutions that work well within the overall system architecture.Participate in the full development cycle, end-to-end, from design, implementation, and testing to documentation, delivery, and maintenance.Produce comprehensive, usable software documentation.Evaluate and make decisions around the use of new or existing software products and tools.Mentor junior development engineers.RequirementsRequires a Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field plus two (2) years of experience as a Software Development Engineer or a related occupation involving software development. Experience may be gained concurrently and must include:Two (2) years in each of the following: Designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, embedded, or distributed software applications, tools, systems, or services using Java, Python, C#, C++, or Object-Oriented Design.Two (2) years in each of the following: Utilizing knowledge of data structures, algorithms, or object-oriented design principles to optimize code performance and efficiency.Two (2) years in each of the following: Working with version control systems such as Git or similar.Two (2) years in each of the following: Working with web technologies (HTML, CSS, or JavaScript) or web services (RESTful APIs).Two (2) years in each of the following: Using software testing techniques (unit testing, integration testing, or automated testing) to ensure high-quality, maintainable code.Two (2) years in each of the following: Conducting performance analysis and optimization of applications, focusing on reducing latency, improving throughput, and enhancing resource utilization.Two (2) years in each of the following: Integrating security best practices into the development lifecycle, including encryption at-rest and in-transit, role-based access control, or secure API authentication mechanisms.Two (2) years in each of the following: Working with relational databases including MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.One (1) year in the following: Creating and maintaining large-scale distributed applications or services leveraging cloud infrastructure.Salary$143,700 - $194,400/year.
