Position Asphalt Mill Operator C.R. Jackson, Inc. is seeking an asphalt mill operator. This position involves operating heavy machinery to remove asphalt in accordance with contract specifications. The asphalt mill operator will enjoy working outdoors and will be crucial in preparing for asphalt paving operations. As the operator of this machine, it is essential to always remain aware of the surroundings. The operator must be vigilant for team members on foot, as well as overhead and ground hazards that could pose safety risks or disrupt the milling process. To maintain optimal performance, this machine requires daily maintenance. Each day, it will be thoroughly cleaned, its teeth inspected for sharpness, and fluid levels checked and replenished as needed. This routine ensures the machine remains reliable and efficient. Responsibilities Operate asphalt milling machines to remove asphalt in accordance with contract specifications. Maintain awareness of surroundings to protect team members and manage overhead and ground hazards. Perform daily maintenance: clean the machine, inspect teeth for sharpness, and check and replenish fluid levels as needed. Contribute to the preparation for asphalt paving operations on high-profile projects across South Carolina. Qualifications 3 years of experience operating an asphalt mill.
