Store Interior Design Manager

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAYLead and manage a team of Interior Design co-workers and inspire and challenge them to strengthen the uniqueness of the IKEA identity in range presentation and home furnishing solutions in room settings, homes, vignettes and sales support areas.Be responsible for gathering and translating insights from home visit interviews into locally relevant, functional, aesthetic and commercial home furnishing solutionsLead a team of Interior Design co-workers in creating the store Showroom that reflects a wide variety of styles, living situations and price levelsSecure that interior designers execute home furnishing solutions with high quality, simplicity, cost-effectiveness and efficiency using global tools and best practices.Maintain deep and up-to-date knowledge about home furnishing, retailing and trends to support the Communication & Interior Design manager to facilitate workshops that generate creative directions that inspire and surprise visitors with strong visual impressions.Actively support in the development of the department action plan with interior design initiatives that are focused on growing the business and support long-term profitability and execute agreed plans together with the Communication & Interior Design team and other functions.Be responsible for the recruitment and competence development of Interior Design co-workers and secure successor planning by constantly searching for potential candidatesAct quickly to exploit commercial opportunitiesActively contribute in the national Interior Design Managers network and share national directions and global tools with the Interior Design co-workers in the stores.WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO HAVESignificant experience of working as an interior designer and/or an interior design-based educationExperience of working in a fast retail environmentExperience in leading and inspiring a teamUnderstand how to lead creative processes and how to build interior design competence.Ability to identify and combine commercial, aesthetic and practical skills and to create a trustful and creative environment.Good analytical and strategic skills and the ability to steer the store business over the short-, mid- and long term.A passion for home furnishing, design and how people live at home.Proven customer-focused mindset.Demonstrate clear communication skillsSet and implement action plans, set expectations, provide clear direction and follow up goals.Ability to prioritise and organise work and the work of othersComputer proficient with knowledge and experience of using relevant software (e.g. AutoCad and Revit).You are fluent in English (additional knowledge of Italian language is preferred)WE CARE FOR PEOPLEAt IKEA we cultivate an inclusive work environment where everyone feels welcomed, accepted, respected, acknowledged for its uniqueness and where we work together in a supportive climate regardless age, gender, religion, sexual orientation, family situation and ability.Our recruitment process may include recorded video interviews, digital platforms, and assessments (e.g., logical–numerical or aptitude tests).If you have a disability or any specific needs you’d like us to be aware of, please feel free to share this with us during your first contact with our recruitment team.We’ll make sure you receive the support and accessibility you need to fully engage in the process.WORKING WITH US HAS ITS REWARDSBeing part of the IKEA team has many benefits.
