How can you make a difference?

As Advocacy Manager, you will lead the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of UNICEF's global advocacy strategy on the Right to Play agenda. Working under the supervision of theChief of Global Advocacy, and in the Chief`s absence under the Deputy Director (Communications and Advocacy) with a dotted line of supervision from the Chief of Multi stakeholder Partnership section in PFP you will coordinate advocacy efforts linked to the International Day of Play and oversee the advocacy pillar of a major global initiative designed to secure measurable policy and financial commitments for children.

In this role, you will:

• Lead Advocacy Strategy Development by shaping innovative global advocacy approaches and building alignment across UNICEF divisions and partners.
• Drive Advocacy Implementation through high-impact campaigns, influencing initiatives, strategic communications, and global advocacy moments, including the International Day of Play.
• Strengthen Monitoring and Evaluation by establishing frameworks that measure advocacy outcomes, generate learning, and demonstrate results.
• Manage Projects, Grants and Resources to ensure effective implementation, budget oversight, donor reporting, and achievement of project objectives.
• Build Advocacy Capacity across UNICEF offices through guidance, coaching, and knowledge sharing.
• Foster Strategic Partnerships and Stakeholder Engagement with governments, UN entities, civil society, foundations, business leaders, academics, and influencers to advance policy and programmatic change for children.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Minimum requirements

• Education : Master or equivalent (Advanced University Degree) inInternational Relations, Political Science, International Development, Public Policy, Public Administration, Economics, Communication or related fields.
  A Bachelor or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in a relevant area combined with 2 additional years of relevant work experience in advocacy, campaigning or a related field may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
• Work Experience: A minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible professional experience in advocacy, campaigning, or a related field is required, including at least two years of experience at the international level.
• Experience leading the development and implementation of advocacy strategies with clear theories of change, measurable objectives, and performance indicators is required.
• A proven track record of achieving or contributing to policy change is required.
• Proven experience applying a range of advocacy tactics to deliver advocacy objectives is required.
• Experience building and maintaining advocacy stakeholder networks and working with advocacy coalitions is required.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex policy issues into compelling campaign narratives and advocacy messages, are required.
• Demonstrated experience in project design and management, including budget management and monitoring and evaluation, is required.
• Skills : Demonstrated expertise in advocacy strategy development, policy influence, campaign management, coalition building, project management.
• Language Requirements: Fluency in English is required.

Desirables

• Language: Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language
• Experience in managing teams is a desirable.
• Knowledge of international development, humanitarian issues and children’s rights is an asset.
• Knowledge in the field of Child Early Development or Parenting or Care Systems is desirable.
