EIB Trainee – Portfolio Management & Monitoring Directorate – Counterparty Management/KYC Centre of Expertise Division – based in Luxembourg Position is based at our Luxembourg headquarters and requires regular office presence. Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 1st March 2026 )With possible extension up to 6 months if required by University. Eligibility: Only applications from nationals of EU Member States and citizens from the following candidate countries are considered: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey, Ukraine.Applicants whose Erasmus+ programme overlaps with the traineeship duration will not be considered.Limit applications to a maximum of three traineeship publications; only the first three submissions will be retained. Objective of the Traineeship The Counterparty Management/KYC Centre of Expertise (KYC) Division is part of the Joint Middle Office (JMO) Department, a key component of the EIB's 1st Line of Defence. The main objectives are to: Identify and verify Clients (and their related parties) at onboarding and conduct ongoing monitoring on a risk‑based approach. Execute ML‑FT risk assessment of EIB Counterparties promptly and flawlessly. You will assist in the ongoing project of verifying, and where needed enhancing, the KYC data, thereby contributing to the maintenance of high‑quality client records. Responsibilities You will be responsible for quality checks of client data and enhancing data where needed, under the supervision of a senior KYC analyst. Tasks include executing data searches, inputting and updating reports. Academic Qualifications and Professional Skills Final year of studies or university degree, preferably in Legal, Business Administration, or a related field. Excellent knowledge of standard Microsoft Office tools (especially Word & Excel). Previous exposure to data quality checks is an advantage. Excellent written and spoken English; knowledge of another EU language is an advantage. Competencies Find out more about EIB core competencies here .
