Our client is dedicated to making nuclear power more accessible and focuses on delivering: Simple and Safe Micro-Reactor SolutionsScalable, affordable, and deployable in various locationsGenerates energy at a rate of one megawatt electric (MWe) at a timeThey are currently developing a Micro Modular ReactorCapable of providing clean energy and radioisotopes where neededInitially supporting the reactor licensing process in the United StatesBy partnering with them, we have the opportunity to contribute to : A Rapidly Growing ScaleupAiming to become a leading technology provider in global energy solutionsCommitted to innovation and sustainabilityThis collaboration offers a unique chance to be part of a: High-Performance TeamFocused on delivering essential energy solutions worldwideThe Mechanical Systems Designer will be responsible for:️ Designing, Developing, and OptimizingMechanical systems and components for nuclear power plants, research reactors, and other applicationsCreating Detailed Technical DrawingsCollaborating with engineers and regulatory agenciesEnsuring designs meet nuclear safety, performance, and regulatory standards️ Using CAD SoftwareDeveloping 2D and 3D modelsPerforming mechanical analyses and supporting prototype development and testingPotential Next StepsAs the company is expanding rapidly and planning international growth in 2026, the right candidate may be considered for regional and/or global responsibilities.Your Responsibilities Will Include:Designing and Developing Mechanical SystemsComponents and assemblies for nuclear reactor applications, including piping, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and cooling systemsCreating and Modifying CAD DrawingsUsing software like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CREO for detailed designCollaborating with Engineers and Regulatory AgenciesEnsuring design feasibility, safety, and complianceConducting material selection, stress analysis, and thermal analysis for optimal performance under high-radiation and high-temperature conditionsEnsuring Regulatory ComplianceAdhering to industry regulations and codes, including ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC), NRC guidelines, and ANSI standardsEngineering Activities Related to Mechanical LoadsAnalyzing systems and components, including pressure vesselsAssisting in Prototype Development and TestingTroubleshooting nuclear mechanical systemsPreparing Technical DocumentationIncluding design specifications, engineering reports, and bills of materials (BOM)Revising Designs Based on FeedbackIncorporating testing results, manufacturing input, and regulatory requirementsMaintaining Organized Design FilesEnsuring version control for nuclear components and systemsSupporting the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) ProcessIncluding design updates and safety improvementsCANDIDATE PROFILEEducation: Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or a related fieldExperience: 2-5 years in mechanical design for nuclear applications, power plants, or industrial settingsCertifications (Preferred): CSWP (Certified SolidWorks Professional), AutoCAD Certification, or equivalent️ Proficiency in CAD Software: AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CREOKnowledge of Mechanical Design Principles: Material properties and manufacturing processes specific to nuclear applicationsUnderstanding of Nuclear Reactor Components: Cooling systems and radiation shieldingFamiliarity with ASME BPVC, NRC Regulations, and ANSI Standards for nuclear mechanical designExperience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA): Knowledge of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) for nuclear applications is a plusExperience in Tribology, Seals, and WeldingStrong Problem-Solving and Analytical Abilities️ Effective Communication and Teamwork Skills: Essential for collaboration with engineers and regulatory bodiesAttention to Detail and Project Management Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects and meet regulatory deadlinesPreferred Qualifications:PhD / Engineering DegreeEnglish (Written and Oral)Soft Skills :Passionate Engineer willing to be part of history in nuclear industry.Ability to Build Relationships and Influence at all Levels of the Organization
