Assistant Store ManagerJoin to apply for the Assistant Store Manager role at O'Reilly Auto Parts.The Assistant Store Manager will support the Store Manager in areas of sales, customer service, store appearance, and store operations. This position will manage the store during the Store Manager’s absence and/or when working opposing shifts.Essential Job FunctionsLead the store team members in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.Supervise the customer service levels on the retail showroom, including team member execution on customer service programs (Related Sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, Rock the Lot, etc.).Work with the store manager to ensure the retail sales counter is adequately staffed during peak retail business hours (lunch, late‑afternoons, evenings, weekends).Assist the store manager in setting team member goals, providing feedback on goal achievement, coaching and mentoring team members, and ensuring team members are staying current on their training.Assist in the hiring process by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling and participating in interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management to select qualified team members.Ensure telephone is answered according to company policy.Process buy‑online / ship‑to‑store, hub‑to‑store transfers, and DC add orders promptly, and contact customers upon shipment arrivals.Utilize electronic outside purchase order ledger to handle special orders and outside purchases efficiently and according to procedure.Process retail customer returns and exchanges efficiently, issue refunds accurately, and stage returned merchandise correctly.Invoice all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, before product leaves the store.Communicate Zipline messages, and delegate and complete Image Maker and merchandising tasks.Ensure all team members comply with company policies, posted work schedules, clock‑in/out procedures, and management approvals for deviations.Perform all store opening/closing duties, day‑end procedures, verify and secure money/deposits, prepare bank deposits, and secure building with security alarms.Assist the store manager in maintaining the store building, parking lot, exterior signage/lighting, hardware, in‑store equipment, and delivery vehicles.Perform any other duties as assigned.Skills, Education, Knowledge, Experience, and AbilitiesRequired: Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification, RSS CertificationDesired: Certified Parts Professional Certification; ASE Certification; Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired)Compensation and BenefitsCompetitive wages & paid time offStock purchase plan & 401(k) with employer contributions starting day oneMedical, dental, & vision insurance with optional FSATeam member health & wellbeing programsTuition and educational assistance programsOpportunities for career growthO’Reilly Auto Parts is an equal opportunity employer.
