Subject Matter Expert, Retail Efficiency

The Retail Business Services (RBS) group is an integral part of Amazon's online product life‑cycle and supports buying operations. The team’s primary role is to support the creation and enhancement of retail selection on the worldwide Amazon online catalog, and the tasks handled by this group can impact online user experience. The successful Subject Matter Expert is a problem‑solver, mentor and communicator with expertise in process optimizations and systems thinking. You will engage directly with multiple internal teams to drive business projects for the RBS team and will utilize a wide range of skills to work on operational quality to independently drive performance improvement projects. In this role you will be focused on improving the experience and satisfaction of Amazon customers (vendors, vendor managers, end customers), performing root‑cause analysis of issues and opportunities affecting the business. Key Job Responsibilities Develop strategies for continuous improvement in process and customer quality. Strengthen existing process by ensuring identification of automation and upstream defect elimination opportunities. Drive process excellence initiatives, Kaizen events and work on new automation/solution building projects. Drill into large amounts of data and extract meaningful business metrics. Perform data analysis on trends observed and recommend solutions to the product and business teams. Collaborate with partner teams and stakeholders across the globe to deliver on key business goals and objectives by driving consensus and building trust. Dive deep into problems, perform root‑cause analysis and corrective actions to avoid defect recurrence. Establish key reports for the functional area. Write clear, concise, audience‑specific, well‑structured documents. The Candidate Is/Has Aptitude and interest for upstream defect elimination. Ability to identify, prioritize and coordinate work streams as necessary, including scheduling, time management and meeting deadlines. High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously with minimal supervision. Basic Qualifications 1+ years of program or project management experience. Experience using data to influence business decisions. 1+ years of interacting with customers/stakeholders. Bachelor’s degree. Knowledge of MS Office. Experience working on root‑cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions for solving customer problems and preventing defects. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of analytics & statistical tools such as SAS, PowerBI, SQL & ETL DW concepts. Knowledge of visualization tools such as Tableau, Datazen, SSRS. Experience in back‑office operations, escalation management and troubleshooting environments. Experience working in e‑commerce / retail / supply chain / financial services business.
