In this role, you won't just build models in isolation; you will work side‑by‑side with our clients to solve their most critical business challenges using AI, Data, and Software Engineering. You will act as the bridge between cutting‑edge AI technology and real‑world operational reality. You will design effective data governance, implement AI solutions, develop applications that run in production environments across various industries (Finance, Energy, Retail, Manufacturing, and more). What is a "Forward Deployed" Engineer? You are not a backend dev, and you are not just a Data Scientist. You are a solver. You go where the problem collaborating with both end users and engineers to shape the most effective solution. You understand the client's infrastructure, you establish a robust data architecture, you build the models, and, most importantly, you ensure those models deliver tangible value in production. Key Responsibilities Design & Build : Develop end-to-end Machine Learning and GenAI solutions, from data ingestion to model serving and monitoring. Client Integration : Work directly with client stakeholders and end users (technical and non‑technical) to understand requirements and map them to technical solutions. Production Engineering : Write Production‑ready solutions using cloud infrastructures and programming languages such as Python and manage the deployment of ML models on cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Problem Solving : Tackle complex, unstructured data problems. If the data is messy, you clean it. If the API is missing, you build it. Adaptability : Switch contexts effectively between different project workstreams and technology and tech stacks. Technical Requirements Experience : min 1 year – max 4 years of experience in Machine Learning Engineering, Data Engineering, or Backend Engineering with a focus on data. Coding : Proficiency in programming languages, especially Python is non‑negotiable. Strong familiarity with data manipulation practices and tools such as Python modules (Pandas, NumPy) and SQL. ML Stack : Experience with standard ML frameworks (Scikit‑learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch) and modern GenAI tools (LangChain, HuggingFace, OpenAI API) is a strong plus. Engineering Best Practices : some degree of comfort with Git, CI / CD pipelines, Docker, and containerization. Cloud & Infrastructure : Hands‑on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP). The Forward Deployed Engineer Mindset (Soft Skills) Communication : Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non‑technical client stakeholders. Autonomy : You are comfortable working in ambiguous environments where the path forward isn't always clear. Impact‑Driven : You care more about the solution working and creating value than using the "trendiest" model just for the sake of it. Language : Fluent in English, Italian fluency is a plus, but it is not mandatory. Why Join Us?
