We are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join our Thermal Advance Engineering team in Piove di Sacco (PD), Italy. The role focuses on Thermal products for Data Center cooling and is responsible for ensuring our products meet high quality standards and performance specifications in compliance with industry regulations. We are looking for a proactive engineer who will contribute to developing innovative electrical designs and supporting product production transfers across locations. ResponsibilitiesWork in a multi-disciplinary engineering team on thermal cooling units for Data Center applications, focusing on high-performance, cost-effective design and market-leading innovation. Design new products or re-engineer existing ones with emphasis on electrical design; collaborate with suppliers, Procurement and Industrial Engineering; incorporate necessary product marketing inputs. Support product production transfers between locations and interface with the main center of expertise. Create and review product documentation (ECAD drawings, specifications, bills of materials). Achieve objectives of cost, quality, environmental impact, and time-to-market; balance market needs with internal requirements. Analyze and resolve technical problems related to assigned products. Demonstrate competence in international electrical regulations and standards (CE/UL). Communicate effectively across regions to enhance global designs. Qualifications & SkillsTechnical Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Minimum 3+ years of experience as an Electrical Designer, preferably in the HVAC industry. Strong understanding of electrical design principles and practices. Excellent knowledge of ECAD & PLM systems; proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel). Knowledge of Active and Passive Filters for harmonics mitigation, Power Factor Correction, and related concepts. Good knowledge of thermodynamics and refrigeration principles (desirable but not essential). English – Intermediate level (written and spoken). Results-oriented, team player, detail-oriented, flexible, with collaborative mindset. Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. Initiative: able to work independently and take on new challenges. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Knowledge of CE electrical standards EN60204 and EN61439 and UL508A for on-board electrical equipment design and safety. Knowledge of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) considerations for compliant operation. Familiarity with common BMS communication systems.
