Senior Software Engineer

The Red Hat OpenShift Console team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join us EMEA. Our team is responsible for the OpenShift web console and underlying services which provides the UI experience for all users of Red Hat OpenShift. We lead development of the OpenShift console that provides customers with a smooth and efficient interface into the design, development, and operation of their OpenShift clusters.What You Will DoDesign, build, and maintain scalable and robust test automation frameworks in TypeScript and Cypress to validate the functionality, performance, and reliability of OpenShift's cloud integrationsEnsure the ongoing stability and security of OpenShift Console by addressing high-priority bugs, handling CVEs, and performing necessary backports and rebasesWork closely with engineers on Red Hat OpenShift to become a contributor to both the upstream and downstream Red Hat OpenShift projects to deliver functionalityInteract with multiple teams within Red Hat as well as with the open source communityUse your excellent communication skills to communicate with other Red Hat OpenShift engineers, product managers, and management across the globeWhat You Will Bring3+ years of professional experience in software engineeringProficiency in at least one frontend programming language and framework, preferably TypeScript and ReactDemonstrable experience in designing and developing test automation frameworks or related toolingSolid understanding of Linux/UNIX operating systemsExperience with container technologies (e.g., Docker, Podman) and a strong understanding of Kubernetes architecture and conceptsExcellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skillsProven ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively in a distributed, global team environmentThe Following Are Considered a PlusFamiliarity with CI/CD systems, especially Prow or JenkinsContributions to relevant open-source projectsAbout Red HatRed Hat is the world’s leading provider of enterprise open source software solutions, using a community-powered approach to deliver high-performing Linux, cloud, container, and Kubernetes technologies.
