Data Engineer/Analyst Graduate Development Program

About The Job Our Graduate Program (also known as Leadership Development Program) for data scientists and analysts is a three-year career acceleration designed for new graduates who share our passion for growth and technological evolution. Through job rotations, coaching, training sessions, mentoring, and continuous feedback, you will gain hands-on experience with the latest methodologies and technologies used in our agile product development organization. Who You Are You possess a strong quantitative and analytical mindset, are curious about business processes, and passionate about technology. You are eager to learn and apply new knowledge, capable of modeling complex systems, challenging your intuition, and validating models against real-world data. You can assess trade-offs between effort and solution quality and are a team player capable of interacting across various levels of the organization. What You Will Do You will become responsible for full data transformation and reporting pipelines, including: Interacting with business process owners to understand data generation, reconstruct their semantics, and assess their value. Performing exploratory data analysis and reverse engineering. Automating data extraction from native business systems. Automating data cleaning, transformation, enrichment, and standardization for Data Hubs. Building multi-dimensional business intelligence models as the authoritative data source. Gathering reporting needs from process owners and top management. Implementing automated reports via Power BI dashboards, PowerPoint decks, and web UI. Managing automated pipelines operationally. What Are We Trying to Do? We aim to unlock value in the diverse data assets within the ION group by standardizing and automating data harvesting, cleaning, enrichment, and reporting. Our goal is to provide data-driven insights to support operational and strategic decision-making. What You Will Need To Know You should have a scientific mindset, capable of building and challenging models and hypotheses. Proficiency in Python and SQL for data analysis is required. Knowledge of statistical concepts for data and time series analysis is highly advantageous. Experience with at least one of the following technologies is a plus: Business Intelligence Tools, preferably Power BI Databricks or Apache Spark MS-SQL Server or Oracle DBMS Functional programming with Scala Angular/TypeScript Minimum Qualifications A master’s degree in a STEM discipline obtained within the past year or currently studying for it. Proficiency in Python and SQL for data analysis. Good command of English and Italian (minimum B1 level). Strong teamwork and collaboration skills. Italian residency or plans to relocate to Italy. For non-EU applicants, a valid EU visa or work permit is required. Contract Type Full-time, permanent contract.
