Join to apply for the Manufacturing Engineer role at ActalentActalent is currently hiring multiple manufacturing engineers for a premier client of ours in the Ottawa, IL area. We are ideally looking for individuals with experience working in a robotic, assembly or machining environment.Role OverviewAs a Manufacturing Engineer, you’ll design and develop advanced hydraulic systems that meet stringent standards for pressure, flow, safety, and quality. This is a hands‑on role where you’ll collaborate with cross‑functional teams to bring innovative ideas to life and ensure exceptional product performance.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and optimize hydraulic systems for new and existing products.Analyze system performance to meet pressure, flow, safety, and quality requirements.Partner with suppliers to define product and component specifications.Develop project plans in collaboration with engineering, marketing, and production teams.Coordinate implementation with production, service, and engineering teams.Prepare and review engineering change packages for accuracy and completeness.Utilize CAD tools and office software for design and documentation.Monitor project progress and report to stakeholders.Support cost‑reduction initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.Evaluate product performance and customer satisfaction, including occasional field visits and trade show participation.Perform additional duties and special projects as needed.Required Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.Minimum 5 years of experience in design and/or engineering.Expertise in mobile equipment, project management, and engineering processes.Proficiency in 2D schematics; AutoCAD experience preferred.Strong communication skills and general computer literacy.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.Hands‑on troubleshooting experience with complex hydraulic systems.Skilled in component selection and full system design.All applicants please apply immediately as we are reviewing resumes.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Streator, IL.Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $33.65 - $55.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
