Our customers include governments, institutions, space agencies and telecommunications operators. ResponsibilitiesDesign spacecraft structures for manned and non-manned modules and satellites, including work with metallic and composite materials; Define and size structural parts and interfaces, either by hand calculation or preliminary FEM analysis; Select materials and associated surface treatments; define required tolerances; review CAD models and drawings; Perform Finite Element Modelling (FEM) with tools such as FEMAP, Patran or Hypermesh, and conduct structural static and normal mode analyses based on FEM (e.g., Nastran); Support the development plan of the spacecraft from mechanical aspects; Prepare and provide design and analysis reporting, and support instrumentation plans for mechanical testing; Coordinate with the team to validate design solutions and analyses through dedicated test articles and breadboards; Coach and support the skill development of younger resources; Occasionally perform detailed verification through structural analysis (static, dynamic, fatigue and fracture mechanics) and assist static and dynamic testing preparation, attendance and results evaluation. Skills, experience and qualificationsMechanical Engineering knowledge; Knowledge of metallic and non-metallic technologies for materials and processes; Knowledge of aerospace design and analysis methodologies and manuals (e.g., Bruhn, Roarks); CAD tools (e.g., CATIA) and manufacturing processes and capabilities; Manufacturing drawing readings and knowledge; Proficiency with Windows Office; Knowledge of Nastran solver; Knowledge of a FEM pre/post processor (Hyperworks, Femap, Patran); Additional capabilitiesMatlab, Mathcad, Simulink or equivalent; Master’s degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering; Master or specific courses in Mechanical Design considered a plus; Experience in Structural or Mechanical Engineering or Industrial roles related to structures and mechanical systems is a plus; Languages: very good knowledge of English (written and spoken); French knowledge is an asset.
