Organizational context: The World Food Programme (WFP) is the world's largest humanitarian organization, dedicated to saving lives and building a pathway to peace and prosperity. The Office of the Inspector General (OIG) provides assurance on WFP's governance, risk management, and control processes, detecting and deterring fraud, waste, and abuse through independent oversight. OIG comprises Internal Audit, Inspections and Investigations, and Professional Support Services.

Job purpose: The SharePoint and Front-End Developer will design, develop, enhance, and maintain secure, accessible, and user-friendly digital solutions to support the Office of the Inspector General's (OIG) audit, investigation, professional practices, knowledge management, and administrative processes. This role requires expertise in SharePoint Online and modern front-end development to translate business needs into intuitive, responsive, and maintainable solutions. The developer will create custom SharePoint components, integrate with Microsoft 365 services, automate business processes, improve user experience, and provide technical documentation and support, ensuring solutions align with WFP's architecture and governance standards.



Responsibilities:
The consultant's responsibilities encompass the full lifecycle of digital solution development and maintenance, with a primary focus on SharePoint Online and front-end technologies. This includes analyzing business needs, translating them into technical designs, and advising on the optimal use of Microsoft 365 tools like SPFx and Power Platform. Key development tasks involve building and configuring modern SharePoint sites, creating custom web parts and extensions using TypeScript and React, and designing responsive, accessible user interfaces with HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript. The role also requires designing and implementing automated workflows for business processes using Power Automate, and integrating solutions with various Microsoft 365 services and APIs. Rigorous testing, deployment, and ongoing support, including troubleshooting and maintenance, are crucial. Furthermore, the consultant must produce comprehensive documentation, ensure solutions adhere to organizational standards for security and data protection, and facilitate knowledge transfer to internal teams. Coordination with various stakeholders and maintaining strict confidentiality of sensitive information are also essential components of the role.



Education:
An advanced university degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Web Development, or a related field is required. Alternatively, a first-level university degree combined with significant relevant professional experience may be considered.

Work

experience:
Requires at least three years of progressive professional experience in SharePoint and web application development, preferably within complex organizations. Must have demonstrated experience developing and maintaining modern SharePoint Online solutions and customizations. Hands-on experience with SPFx, TypeScript, React, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS is essential.
