RINA is currently recruiting for a Software Application Engineer to join its office in ROME within the Digital Technology and Cybersecurity Division.MissionRINA's activities in Rome focus on software engineering tasks, including system requirements analysis, software requirements definition, solution design, interfacing with System Engineering and Leonardo Labs, verification, and validation. The goal is to conduct a technological maturation study and develop a demonstrator for the Italian Air Force.Key AccountabilitiesTechnical project managementTechnical interface with client and development teamSoftware requirement definitionSoftware design, including requirements and architectureSupport in verification and validation phasesQualificationsRequired skills include:Experience with microservice architecture tools (Docker, Docker Compose, Kubernetes)Experience managing communication systems between microservices (REST APIs, Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ)Experience developing modern, scalable user interfaces with reusable componentsProficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks such as React, Vue.js, or AngularKnowledge of security standards like OIDC and OAuth for authentication/authorizationExperience with HTTP protocolKnowledge of Matlab and SimulinkUnderstanding of DIS (Distributed Interactive Simulation) protocolExperience with CI/CD pipelines, repositories, versioning tools (gitlab, Jira, Jenkins, Git, Nexus), and DevSecOps automation and security systemsEducationBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information SystemsCompetenciesADDRESS THE WAY - Big picture thinking and reinterpretationCLIENT INTIMACY - Meeting internal and external client needsBUILD NETWORK - Establishing trust across departments and outside the organizationEARN TRUST - Valuing diverse opinions and opennessMAKE EFFECTIVE DECISIONS - Prioritizing activities effectivelyMANAGE EMOTIONS - Recognizing and regulating emotional responsesPIONEER CHANGE - Embracing and leveraging changePROMOTE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT - Acting as a role model in commitmentsTHINK FORWARD - Using past experiences to plan aheadRINA is a multinational company offering services across energy, marine, certification, infrastructure & mobility, industry, and R&D sectors.
