Overview Join to apply for the In-Orbit Services Thermal Engineer role at The Exploration Company. Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run. Role We are seeking a talented Thermal Systems Engineer to help us in our mission by contributing to the development of our future projects. As a Thermal Systems Engineer, you will oversee the thermal architecture, sizing and analysis of a variety of new projects. You will work closely with our mechanical, CAD, and system engineers to assess feasibility and preliminary sizing of the thermal systems of our future vehicles. Responsibilities Determining the thermal load cases throughout the entire project lifecycle Designing conceptual and preliminary thermal control systems designs for new space systems, with the right level of complexity depending on the maturity and goals of the study Providing technical solutions to optimise thermal management, in collaboration with other subsystems (propulsion, avionics, ECLSS…) Effectively communicating and providing recommendations through analyses, preparation, documentation and presentation of technical data Qualifications Advanced degree (Master of Science or PhD) in aerospace engineering, heat transfer and fluid mechanics, or another related field 5+ years of experience working in space project thermal control design and analyses Strong knowledge of thermal management Good knowledge in thermal analysis Experience with several thermal software (Thermal Desktop, ESATAN) is appreciated Experience with programming (Python) Fluent in English.
