Join us in redefining the boundaries of what’s possible.ENVISION YOUR FUTURE JOBThe candidate will act as Product Design Engineer for Smart Eyewear project.He/She will follow the project from its very beginning, actively participating in the Product Design phase, where a solid, proactive, and creative problem‑solving approach is required, and supporting Product Development up until the launch to Mass Production.In this role, the candidate will be responsible for the 3D Model design on CAD and modeling of complex smart eyewear systems, where aesthetics plays a key role. The successful candidate should also be able to achieve a holistic understanding of the product and its functionalities.He/She will work closely with Product Design Engineers, Industrial Designers, User Experience team, Quality, Manufacturing.AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND RELATED ACTIVITIESDevelop and act as reference for the development of complex mechanical solutions as a member of a multi-disciplinary teamIdeate, design, build, test, and refine prototypes and characterization test systemsPush state‑of‑the‑art technologies and approaches to solve complex mechanical problemsWork across the full product development cycle, especially from idea, to concept definition and to product finalizationCollaborate closely with industrial designers, UX team and quality.Travel to and support engineering builds and vendor visitsQUALIFICATIONSEducational Background in Mechanical Engineering/Industrial DesignKnowledge and Experience of Parametric 3D CAD Software, better if Creo softwareKnowledge and Experience on PDM, better if Windchill systemKnowledge on design and process of Injection molding3+ years of industry experience in mechanical design or in mold DesignExperience in Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), statistical tolerance analysis techniques, functional dimensioning, geometric tolerancing, and 3D/2D CADKnowledge of design and simulation tools, prototyping tools, manufacturing technologies and materialsWorking knowledge in material properties, such as plastics, metal, adhesive, glass, etc.Experience building relationships and collaborating with cross‑functional teamsExperience operating autonomously across multiple teamsHigh level of organizational skillsScientific approach and great problem‑solving skillsAbility to operate in dynamic, fast‑paced environment with minimal supervisionPrevious experience in Consumer Electronics Product Development is greatly appreciatedExperience with Office 365WHAT ELSE DO YOU NEED TO KNOWIn EssilorLuxottica you have the feeling of being part of a “success story”, no matter where you work in the EssilorLuxottica world, you can really make an impact.
