This position provides personal financial counseling services at military installations, including one‑on‑one counseling, briefings, and referral resources. Responsibilities Provide personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and families. Assist service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences. Develop and provide financial informational materials to service members/families. Coordinate, promote, and deliver Personal Financial Management classes/workshops across the military lifecycle. Respond to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars. Utilize virtual counseling or electronic communications (web, secure chat, video) as authorized. Manage duty‑to‑warn situations according to DoD protocol. Communicate with leadership and participate in supervision, sharing trends and issues. Participate in in‑services/training, quality improvement committees, or other contract activities. Perform any additional duties as assigned. Requirements Bachelor’s degree required; associate degree plus 4 years experience or high school diploma plus 6 years experience may be considered. 3+ years of financial counseling experience. U.S. citizenship and fluent English. Bilingual in English and Spanish if required. Obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation. Pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process. Possess one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
