We are recruiting for a three-year funded PhD position in our group at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”, within the Italian National PhD Programme in Artificial Intelligence – Health and Life Sciences, 42nd cycle.
We are looking for a bright, curious and highly motivated candidate with a strong quantitative background who is interested in developing innovative artificial intelligence methods for studying the brain, biological systems and human health.
Core areas of research
- NeuroAI and computational neuroscience
- foundation models, deep learning and generative AI
- graph machine learning and brain-network analysis
- multimodal neuroimaging, including MRI, PET and CT
- EEG, MEG and intracranial signal analysis
- neuromodulation, focused ultrasound and neurotechnology
- quantitative biomarkers and personalised medicine
- physical, mathematical and causal modelling of biological systems
We particularly welcome candidates with backgrounds in computer science, engineering, physics, mathematics, data science or closely related quantitative disciplines . Experience with Python, machine learning, deep learning, image analysis, signal processing or computational modelling is highly valued.
The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary and international environment, with access to advanced data and technologies and opportunities to collaborate with leading academic, clinical and industrial partners.
