Job Summary<br>Interprets and implements prescription and treatment plan as directed by the Radiation Oncologist;<br>Performs operation of the therapeutic equipment, proper patient positioning, monitoring of the patient during the procedure and related clerical duties; performs daily equipment warm‑up and quality assurance procedures;<br>Evaluates and assesses treatment machine operations;<br>Recognizes machine malfunctions and reports them to the Chief Therapist and Medical Physicist;<br>Ability to perform procedures regarding quality assurance, emergency shutdown and guidelines that pertain to the operation manuals for equipment;<br>Monitors patients' clinical progress and refers patients to medical or nursing staff for appropriate intervention;<br>Communicates clearly and concisely with all members of the health care team, patients, and families;<br>Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills;<br>Demonstrates a clear understanding of quality improvement, patient satisfaction and a Patient First philosophy.<br>Minimum Qualifications<br>Associate degree in Radiation Therapy or completion of an American Medical Association approved certificate program; New York State licensure and RTT (Radiation Therapist Technologist) or eligibility required. Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross is required.<br>Preferred Qualifications<br>Work Days: Monday - Friday; 8:00 - 4:30 with some days extending past 4:30.<br>Message To Applicants<br>Our benefits package includes health, dental and vision insurance, eligibility for employer 401k funding after 1 year (3% quarterly/5% annual on vesting schedule), tuition reimbursement, generous paid time off, including vacation and personal time, paid sick leave, holidays and floating holidays.<br>Salaries<br>G8: $39.75 - $61.05<br>Please note the salary information shown is a general guideline only.
