Director, Regional Data Center Operations - MEU, Datacenter OperationsAWS Infrastructure Services seeks an experienced Director to lead the Middle Europe (MEU) Regional Data Center Operations. Based in Germany, this role will oversee critical infrastructure that powers AWS services across the Middle Europe region. This senior leadership position will oversee one of AWS's most complex and diverse infrastructure regions. The successful candidate will drive operational excellence while scaling infrastructure to meet growing customer demand in this critical European region.AWS Infrastructure Services builds and operates the global infrastructure that powers all AWS services. Our team designs, builds, and operates data centers worldwide that deliver AWS cloud services to millions of active customers in 190+ countries. We drive innovation in areas including power and cooling systems, network connectivity, security systems, and sustainable operations.Key job responsibilitiesDrive safety culture and security initiatives across all regional data center facilitiesDevelop and implement operational strategies that align with AWS’s global standards while addressing regional requirementsOversee capacity planning, delivery, and growth strategies to meet customer demandDirect engineering operations across multiple infrastructure types (Colocation, Hybrid, Build-to‑Suit)Manage complex multi‑stakeholder coordination requirements with internal teams, vendors, and local authoritiesChampion inclusion, diversity, and equity initiatives within the regional organizationImplement sustainability programs and ensure environmental compliance across all facilitiesOversee regional financial performance, budget planning, and cost optimization initiativesDrive continuous improvement in operational metrics, efficiency, and service deliveryBuild and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including business partners, vendors, and local authoritiesBasic QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration or related field5+ years of experience in data center operations, infrastructure management, or related technical field5+ years of people management experience leading large, diverse teamsProven track record of managing complex operational environments at scaleExperience with capacity planning and infrastructure growth managementStrong financial acumen with budget responsibilityDemonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic operational plansExperience working with cross‑functional teams in a global organizationPreferred QualificationsMaster’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration or related fieldExperience working in European markets with understanding of local regulations and business practicesKnowledge of sustainability practices and environmental compliance in data center operationsTrack record of implementing innovative operational improvements and driving efficiencyExperience managing diverse infrastructure types (Colocation, Hybrid, Build‑to‑Suit)Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
