With a strong international presence and over 1,600 installations worldwide, the company develops and implements cutting-edge technologies that maximize renewable energy generation, divert waste from landfill, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions across the municipal, industrial, commercial, and agricultural sectors. Position Overview The Project Engineer plays a key role in the successful delivery of engineering projects, coordinating multidisciplinary design teams and ensuring that all engineering documentation meets quality, schedule, and budget requirements. This position involves oversight of engineering deliverables related to mechanical sorting, anaerobic digestion, and renewable energy systems. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in industrial plant engineering, combined with a collaborative leadership approach to drive effective project execution. Key Objectives Deliver engineering document packages within agreed schedule and budget. Coordinate and motivate the engineering team to ensure alignment, collaboration, and productivity. Maintain the highest standards of safety and environmental performance through proactive design review processes. Identify and implement cost-effective design improvements. Ensure quality, accuracy, and consistency across all project deliverables. Responsibilities Gather project information from the Project Manager and organize resources accordingly. Develop and maintain the engineering document list, assigning tasks to internal and external contributors. Plan, coordinate, and monitor engineering activities to ensure alignment with overall project timelines. Review deliverables to ensure compliance with quality and contractual standards. Lead design reviews, risk assessments, and coordination meetings as required. Support commissioning activities (FAT/SAT) and provide technical input to site teams. Track engineering costs and hours to ensure adherence to project budgets. Record and report non-conformities and lessons learned for continuous improvement. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering. Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Project Engineer in the industrial plant sector (energy, waste, chemical, or related fields). Technical Competencies Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control engineering principles. Proven experience in industrial plant design, equipment specification, and control systems. Familiarity with regulations governing waste treatment, renewable energy, and biogas facilities. Ability to interpret contracts, scopes of work, and project limits. Fluent in Italian with working knowledge of English. Soft Skills Strong adaptability and problem-solving mindset. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage deadlines. Effective communicator and collaborator within multidisciplinary teams. Analytical thinker able to resolve technical challenges efficiently — including remotely when needed.
