SAP Payroll Functional Consultant Location : Italy 100% remote Employment Type : Permanent Experience Level : Mid / Senior Consultant Start Date : ASAP About the Role We’re seeking an experienced SAP Payroll Functional Consultant to join a global HR Technology team. You’ll work within the international Payroll (PY) department, providing expert functional support and ensuring smooth payroll operations for Italian entities. This role involves close collaboration with internal teams and external service partners to maintain, enhance, and optimise SAP Payroll systems. Key Responsibilities Provide SAP Payroll application support, guidance, and issue resolution. Manage and resolve functional tickets, following analysis and team guidance. Configure and develop clean, reliable SAP Payroll solutions in line with best practices. Conduct functional testing to verify that developments meet agreed specifications. Produce clear technical and functional documentation. Prioritise workload effectively and report progress to the Payroll Team Manager. Maintain strong communication with stakeholders and ensure timely issue resolution. Demonstrate a sound understanding of HR processes and SAP HR architecture. Requirements Strong functional knowledge of SAP HR Payroll, with proven Italian Payroll experience. Fluent Italian and English communication skills (written and spoken). Service-oriented mindset with a focus on quality and accountability. Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities. Ability to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions. Experience in SAP application support or maintenance preferred. Only Italian-speaking European nationals with specific hands‑on experience in Italian Payroll will be considered for this position.
