ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Supplier Quality Senior Specialist to join our organization and support the development of new vehicle programs and engine systems.
In this role, you will ensure the quality and robustness of supplier manufacturing processes for direct materials, working closely with Purchasing, Engineering, Platform Teams, and Suppliers throughout the product development lifecycle. You will play a key role in driving supplier performance, ensuring compliance with IVECO Group standards, and supporting continuous improvement across the supply base.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead supplier quality activities for new product development programs, ensuring compliance with APQP and PPAP requirements.
- Collaborate with Purchasing and Engineering teams during supplier sourcing and industrialization phases.
- Assess and approve supplier manufacturing processes, ensuring alignment with IVECO Group quality targets and industry standards.
- Manage supplier quality issues affecting production plants, pre-delivery vehicles, and field performance.
- Conduct process audits (PA) and supplier assessments (PPAP) to verify process capability, stability, and compliance.
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective action implementation using structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Monitor supplier performance and support continuous improvement initiatives across the supply base.
- Promote best practice sharing and quality culture development among suppliers.
Requirements:
You are an experienced quality professional with a strong technical background in manufacturing and supplier development. You thrive in a cross-functional and international environment, combining analytical thinking with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related scientific field.
- Previous experience in Manufacturing, Quality, Supplier Quality, or Product Engineering within the automotive, industrial, or transportation sectors.
- Fluent English, both written and spoken.
- MS Office Suite knowledge
- Availability for regular business travel across Italy and Europe.
- Strong ability to manage multiple priorities
Technical Knowledge
Quality & Process Excellence:
- APQP and PPAP methodologies
- Quality tools (8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa, FTA, Kaizen)
- Structured problem solving and continuous improvement
- Basic knowledge of DFMEA and PFMEA
- Statistical methods for process capability analysis
Manufacturing & Product Knowledge:
- Metallic and mechanical components for engine systems
- CNC machining processes (turning, milling, grinding, tapping, cutting)
- Metal surface treatments
- Inspection and measurement techniques (CMM, micrometers, calipers, hardness testing, spectrometry)
- GD&T interpretation and technical drawing reading
- Basic metallurgy and foundry processes
Preferred Qualifications:
The following experiences will be considered a strong advantage:
- Steel and aluminum component manufacturing.
- Iron and aluminum casting and foundry technologies.
- Engine systems development and industrialization.
- Non-destructive testing (radiography, ultrasonic, magnetic particle, dye penetrant inspection).
- Level II certification in non-destructive testing methods.
