Responsibilities Define requirements for testing and qualifying subsystems. Perform analysis of radiated emissions and susceptibility (RE/RS). Develop models for interference and shielding issues to mitigate and control emissions and susceptibility. Work with electronic component design teams to communicate requirements related to electromagnetic environments such as shielding, grounding, bonding and isolation. Work with subsystem design owners on EMI related challenges. Define and coordinate EMI and EMC testing for a satellite and its subsystems. Coordinate requirements and validation with Launch Providers’ EMI and EMC teams. Develop and maintain EMI/EMC test labs and equipment and support execution of EMI/EMC testing for a satellite and its subsystems. Identify emission and susceptibility non-conformance. Debug all failures to root‑cause and provide manufacturable solutions. Export Control Requirement Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. 5+ years of experience in a hardware development role focusing on electromagnetic environments or EMI/EMC. 5+ years of experience with defining and conducting EMI/EMC testing for electronic components and systems. Preferred Qualifications Ph.D. or Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Physics or related degree. 7+ years of experience in spaceflight avionics development as an electromagnetic environments effects engineer. Experience with EMC industry standards and specifications for aerospace such as MIL‑STD‑461 and AIAA S‑121A. Experience using analysis to define requirements for emissions and susceptibility of avionics components. Experience modelling electromagnetic environments using electromagnetic (EM) computational commercial software. Compensation The base pay for this position ranges from $128,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $213,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
