A strong front office is critical to coordinate the wide range of activities performed by the function. This role is critical to refine WFP’s corporate supply chain planning and implementation processes, define the way forward over the next five years, and improve performance measurement and evidence generation.Accountabilities / ResponsibilitiesSupport the Deputy Director by producing talking points, briefing material, background information and presentations for key discussions with internal and external stakeholders.Produce concept notes, analyses, operational overviews and information notes to support informed decision‑making at Leadership Group and Executive Director level.Manage the Deputy Director’s agenda, prioritise critical discussions and ensure effective day‑to‑day business planning.Utilise data analysis, corporate planning, budget and performance reporting to support coherent and unified approaches and strategies.Provide analytical support for operations scale‑up decisions during sudden emergencies, ensuring adequate assistance to populations affected by humanitarian crises.Develop methodologies for corporate sourcing plans based on commodities, seasonality, production forecasts, prices, etc., to support procurement actions (e.g., GCMF).Develop corporate delivery plans based on commodities, country of origin, destination countries, most common logistics networks, expected bottlenecks and warehouse capacity.Track implementation of the Supply Chain Strategic Roadmap for 2022‑25, identify enablers and deliver concept papers and strategic documents to improve WFP’s supply chain efficiencies.Support the review and update of Supply Chain internal business processes and lead production of evidence‑based concept notes for innovative ideas.Lead development of proposals for grant allocation planning in compliance with donor conditions and WFP internal rules.Develop information notes for donors to illustrate how contributions were used and results obtained.Review and analyse key funding shortfalls for the Division and identify sustainable funding solutions on the medium‑to‑long‑term.Produce Supply‑Chain‑related documents for submission to WFP’s Executive Board for approval.Deliverables At The End Of The ContractSupport provided to the Deputy Director and Senior Management for informed decision‑making on key strategic, tactical and operational priorities.Development of accurate supply‑chain plans and efficient scale‑up of assistance.Facilitate the positioning of the function with WFP’s evolving operational environment.Enable efficient allocation and reporting on corporate/regional contributions.Raise awareness on main achievements through reporting for internal and external stakeholders.Qualifications & Experience RequiredEducation: University degree (or equivalent) with emphasis in economics, supply chain, business administration or international affairs. Masters degree in one or more of these disciplines preferred.Experience: At least 8 years post‑graduate progressively responsible job‑related experience in planning, forecasting and reporting.Knowledge & Skills: Advanced analytical skills for statistical forecasting, supply‑chain and business analysis; familiarity with WFP’s supply‑chain model and key stakeholder divisions; advanced knowledge of SAP APO, WINGS II, Business Objects, MS Office; fluency in English and knowledge of another UN language (Spanish, French, Arabic, etc.).Reasonable AccommodationWFP is committed to supporting individuals with disabilities by providing reasonable accommodations throughout the recruitment process.
