Project managers direct the planning and execution of a project and personally commit to the success of the project. They nurture the project to meet its objectives. To set scope and develop project plan, business case and execution tactical plan, in line with the Business / Department strategy, project and functional standards ensuring a successful delivery of the aimed project result.Key Accountabilities The Project Manager is responsible for managing and delivering the project on time, in full and on / below budget. The Project Manager should also make sure that the project complies with the AkzoNobel Policies and Procedures for projects.Prepare the project & create the project planLead the project team & execute the project planHandover the result & close the projectEnsure proper stakeholder management and deliver value for the customerDefine and negotiate project objectives, deliverables and roles when working with outsourced business partnersPromote best practice methods, approaches and practices for project management across the AkzoNobel community through mentoring, coaching and demonstrating project management leadershipOrganize post project reviews and document lessons learned and contribute to have Projects Management and standard Project Management methodology continuously optimizedRequirementsBS / BA degree in Engineering, or related Analytical field requiredExperience in Project Management and / or experience in R&D / IT or other relevant experience needed for the project, Experience in managing CAPEX is also required.Technical Skills:Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite and CAD software is preferred.Knowledge of ERP systems, specifically SAP, is required.Language Skills:Good knowledge of English and Italian is required.Key Generic Competencies:Manages the relation with a (large) variety of (groups of) stakeholdersEffective under stressPlanning and organizing skillsStrong analytical and problems solving abilitiesPeople management skills: ability to manage and motivate a (large) team of indirect reportsGood communication skills with compliance groups, suppliers, and colleagues at all levels in the organizationCompetencies 1. Industrial Project Management (CAPEX & Engineering)Several years of experience in planning and managing capital investment projects (revamping, new production lines, infrastructure, utilities).Full lifecycle project management : Business Case → Basic & Detailed Engineering → Procurement → Construction → Commissioning → Handover.Knowledge of EHS procedures and permit-to-work systems for industrial sites.Experience working with equipment suppliers and contractors (mechanical, electrical, automation).2. Project Governance and Stakeholder ManagementExperience in managing multi-stakeholder projects, liaising with:Site management and corporate functions (Finance, HSE, Quality, Procurement)Process engineering, maintenance, operations, and R&DExternal suppliers and consultantsLeading project reviews, gate meetings, and progress reporting (KPIs, cost, schedule, risks).3. Budgeting and Financial ControlManagement of CAPEX budgets up to €2M.Experience in cost / benefit analysis, cost control, and financial forecasting.Familiarity with company procedures for investment approvals and purchase order management.4. Methodologies and ToolsBasic knowledge of Lean Six Sigma, Change Management, and structured problem-solving tools.5.
