Global Product Manager

We are seeking a Global Product Manager to lead the strategy and vision of the control and automation product line in the Power Conversion Solutions product portfolio. This role combines deep technical expertise with strategic product management responsibilities. You will define and maintain the product roadmap, manage the product lifecycle, and build compelling business cases to drive growth. As a thought leader, you will shape the future of the control and automation product line. You will work across domains such as energy storage applications, renewable integration, and emerging technologies ensuring the product line is compliant with grid codes, cybersecurity standards, and operational technology best practices.How You'll Make An ImpactDevelop and maintain the global product roadmap for the control and automation product line.Identify market growth opportunities by collecting, verifying, and defining market requirements for different customer segments.Build business cases for new product developments and enhancements, aligning with market trends and customer needs.Translate complex market and customer requirements into clear, actionable specifications for the R&D team, leveraging deep technical knowledge in control and automation.Ensure product solutions comply with international grid codes, cybersecurity requirements, and OT operational standards.Act as a thought leader, influencing industry standards and representing the company in technical forums, conferences, and customer meetings to drive solution development.Work goal‑oriented with close collaboration among internal business units, functions, end customers, and development teams; communication and coordination across diverse technical backgrounds is essential.Live core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for own actions while caring for colleagues and the business.Your backgroundMSc/BSc in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related fields.10+ years of hands‑on experience with deep understanding of power conversion systems, electrical grid automation, and solution development in renewable energy or battery energy storage.Knowledge of power systems (LV, MV, HV electrical equipment, switchgear, generation equipment) and simulation models affecting grid‑code compliance; familiarity with components such as RTUs, protocol gateways, SCADA, PLCs, plant networking.Strong understanding of control systems, plant automation, grid code compliance, and OT cybersecurity.Proven ability to develop product strategies, roadmaps, and business cases.Personable, proactive, professional, with a commitment to exceptional customer care and service.Compelling communication, negotiation, and presentation skills including giving keynote speeches in customer workshops and trainings.Proactive, flexible, with good communication, interpersonal and team‑working skills.Ability to work collaboratively across global teams and travel internationally (~20% of the time).More About UsHitachi Energy is a global technology leader in electrification, powering a sustainable energy future through innovative power‑grid technologies with digital at the core.
