Overview Sida Advisory is recruiting a Homologation Manager for an Italian accredited conformity assessment organization specializing in inspection, certification, and EU vehicle type approval. The organization is part of an international industrial group. The Role As Homologation Manager , you will be the central authority overseeing the homologation process, ensuring compliance with EU and national transport regulations. You will manage the delivery of inspection and certification activities with a strong focus on quality systems, regulatory interpretation, technical decision-making, and maintaining team competence. Requirements (Must-have) Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field. 5+ years of experience with accreditation bodies and/or transport authorities, especially in an ISO 17020 accredited inspection body. 5+ years of experience in the automotive sector, specifically in homologation, inspection, or certification roles. Experience working within an accredited conformity assessment body (ISO 17020). Strong working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17020 and ISO/IEC 17021 quality systems. Proven experience in EU vehicle type approval processes. Fluent in English (written and spoken). Key Responsibilities Ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17020, ISO/IEC 17021-1, and EU vehicle type-approval regulations. Oversee the homologation process and ensure technical documentation is in line with EU and national regulations. Develop and improve technical procedures, methodologies, and instructions related to homologation and type approval. Interpret EU and national transport legislation and translate it into operational practices for homologation processes. Handle technical queries with clients, auditors, and competent authorities (e.g., Ministry of Transport). Collaborate with the Quality Manager on audits, nonconformities, root cause analysis, and CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions). Lead and mentor a team of homologation inspectors, auditors, and technical staff, ensuring ongoing training, competence, and authorizations. Review and approve technical reports and certification decisions related to homologation. Manage technical equipment, including calibration and maintenance processes, ensuring compliance with relevant standards. Oversee risk mitigation strategies related to technical processes and homologation procedures. Requirements (Nice-to-have) Background in Designated Technical Services (DTS) for EU type approval.
