Marine Floating Offshore Sector Senior Surveyor RINA is currently recruiting for a Marine Floating Offshore Sector Senior Surveyor to join its office in Genoa, Naples or Pescara, Italy within the Marine Special Ships Excellence Centre Division. Mission The Senior Surveyor serves as an experienced and knowledgeable professional within the organization, applying expertise in maritime Rules, Regulations, and industry principles. The Senior Surveyor plays a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, quality, and continuous improvement of surveying processes. Key Accountabilities Professional Specialist: Applies in-depth knowledge of Rules, Regulations, and industry concepts; keeps abreast of new developments and recommends changes to surveying processes and safety programs. Inspection and Reporting: Conducts routine surveys on classed ships, offshore installations, or marine assets to ensure compliance with classification and statutory requirements; prepares technically accurate and timely reports of inspections and surveys. Leadership and Coordination: Plans, schedules, and coordinates various phases of surveying work; monitors the quality of service, providing guidance to less experienced surveyors. Client Interaction: Engages with clients to solve problems within the area of expertise; ensures client satisfaction through effective communication and resolution of issues. Training and Development: Provides guidance and training to less experienced surveyors; contributes to the development and improvement of the surveying team’s skills and knowledge. Quality Assurance: Ensures the maintenance of quality, content, consistency, and continuity of work performed. Ethical Conduct: Upholds the highest ethical standards in all professional interactions, ensuring integrity, transparency, and fairness in survey processes. Education >Master’s Degree in Naval Engineering. Qualifications Minimum 3 years’ experience working as a Surveyor or minimum 6 years’ experience in the engineering or inspection/survey fields with an IACS member Classification Society. Understanding of RINA strategic technical positioning in the sector of the marine industry. Proficiency in the English language commensurate with the scope of classification, statutory certification, related services, and, before assignment, with their future work. Ability to develop a working knowledge of RINA Rules, Guides, statutory regulations, and related instructions, as well as the RINA Employee Safety Policy. Knowledge of shipbuilding practices, ship engineering systems, machinery, and operations; ability to understand engineering plans. Ability to perform new building surveys: assess the suitability of certified materials and products, evaluate hull, machinery, and equipment built in compliance with rules and regulations, issue certificates, reports, and statuses. Ability to perform ship in service surveys: ensure hull, machinery, and equipment maintenance complies with rules and regulations, follow up repair works, and issue certificates and reports. Ability to conduct Marine Management Systems audits, testing activities, and supplier/manufacturer certification processes. Proficiency with computer programs or software packages related to job responsibilities and knowledge of related technical interfaces required for group project work.
